Indian Army Soldier exam is a paper-pen based defence entrance examination directed for recruitment of soldiers in the Indian Army. Indian Army Soldier Recruitment exam is conducted for the following vacancies :-

1) Soldier (General Duty) GD

2) Soldier (General Duty with 10+2 PCM)

3) Soldier Technical (Tech)

4) Soldier Nursing Assistant (Sol NA)

5) Soldier Clerk/Skt 6) Soldier Tradesmen

Any candidate planning to apply for the technical posts, must have 10+2 completed with the PCM Physics, Chemistry, Maths, and English with an aggregate marks of 50% and 40% marks in each subject. Also, 10+2 with any stream (Arts, science or commerce), with 60% marks and 50% in each subject.

Admission Age Limit – Minimum Age required – 17 1/2 years & Maximum Age Required – 23 years

Qualification Required – The candidate must be matriculation passed or any equivalent education with the subjects Science and English.

Sex – Male

Marital Status – Unmarried

Nationality

  1. All the candidates must be Indian. This is to maintain the integrity of the country.
  2. Candidates posessing the nationality of Bhutan and Nepal can join Indian Army.
  3. Tibetan refugee in India who came to India before 1st January of 1962 and permanently settled in India can also apply.
  4. Anyone who migrated in India from Sri Lanks and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, Pakistan, Burma the United Republic of Tanzania, Vietnam, Zambia, Zaire etc can also join Indian Army.

Candidates of point 2, 3 and 4 should have a valid nationality certificate by the Indian Government in their own name.

Physical Structure

Meeting the criteria mentioned below is an important aspect of joining the Indian Defence government.

Height – The candidate’s height must be 167cm. This criterion can be relaxed depending upon the state of the candidate and the Gorkha candidates.

Chest – The minimum chest expansion should be 77cm and 5cm additional expansion.

Weight – The minimum weight of the candidate should be 50Kg.

Medical History – The candidate should not have any kind of contanimation diseases, surgeries and infections. He should not have any kind of mental disease. Ear, nose and throat section must work perfectly.

The written exam is of 100 marks comprising of objective type questions from Genral Science, Mathematics and General Knowledge. The bifurcation of marks is as mentioned below:

General Science – 40%

Mathematics – 30 %

General Knowledge – 30%
