The Central Armed Police Forces alludes to uniform terminology of security forces in India under the authority of Ministry of Home Affairs

The CAPF forces terrorists, naxalites, and insurgents and even play a role in the smooth running of the country. CAPF which are entrusted with carrying out the responsibility of both the military and the police in guarding the borders just as battling terrorists and others are 365 days running machine.

The entrance test is difficult and more than the written test, the most important thing is the nature and knowledge of the candidate.

Nationality – Only Indians

Sex – Both male and female candidates

Educational Qualification – The candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a government recognized university. The University should be incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India.

Age Limit – Minimum Age Criteria is 20 Years and the maximum age limit is 25 years for open category. The upper age limit has a relaxation of 5 yeras for candidates of SC/ST category and a relaxation of 3 years for other backward classes.

Conducting Authority – Union Public Service Commission

This is one of the toughest exam and also known as UPSC CAPF entrance. The details are mentioned below:

Paper – I:

  • Total questions – 200 – Multiple Choice Questions
  • Total Marks – 250
  • Duration – 2 hrs

Paper – II:

  • Total Questions – 6 Descriptive
  • Total Marks – 200
  • Duration – 3 Hrs

Parper – I General Ability and Intelligence (250 Marks)

General Mental Ability:

  • Logical reasoning
  • Quantitative aptitude including numerical ability
  • Data interpretation.

General Science:

  • General awareness
  • Scientific temper
  • Comprehension and appreciation of scientific phenomena of everyday observation including new areas of importance like Information Technology, Biotechnology, and Environmental Science.

Current Events of National and International Importance:

  • Awareness of current events of national and international importance in the board areas of culture, music, arts, literature, sports, governance, societal and developmental issues, industry, business, globalisation, and interplay among nations

Indian Polity and Economy:

  • The Country’s political system and the Constitution of India
  • Social systems and public administration, economic development in India
  • Regional and international security issues and human rights including its indicators

History of India:

  • Social and economic aspects of geography pertaining to India and the World.

Indian and World Geography:

  • The physical, social and economic aspects of geography pertaining to India and the World.

Paper – II

Part – A

Questions for long narrative form either in Hindi or English totalling 80 Marks. The indicative topics are modern Indian history especially of the freedom struggle, geography, polity and economy, knowledge of security and human rights issues, and analytical ability.

Part – B

Comprehension, précis writing, other communications/language skills – to be attempted in English only (Marks 120) – The topics include Comprehension passages, précis writing, developing counter arguments, simple grammar and other aspects of language testing.
